Fairbank Oil :
*July 2010 : UPDATE & NEW photos.By luck and happenstance I was invited onto the Fairbank Oil property by Mr.Fairbank and his son who gave me free rein to wonder about the property for the afternoon. I am very grateful for that experience and left the site with some good keeper shots.
**Nov. of 2007 : Scattered randomly about a number of old, but still producing, low pressure oil fields covering several square miles in and about the town of Oil Springs, Ontario. According to the history books, this is the location where it all began, the first commercial oil well production in North America that subsequently started the global search for the black gold, where the "Age of Oil" all began. These remarkable full size steel figures were commissioned by Chas. Fairbanks and constructed by a local folk artist, Murray Watson (see link below). I understand that each one of these handsome fellas are modeled after real people (past & present) and residing in the local area oil patch.
