Pickering Pioneer : Fathers Day! The kids went that away, so the wife and I went the other and we found ourselves here, in an authentic, recreated pioneer village out in the near country side. I've ridden past this community project dozens of times on the road-bike and have never gone in, even though it's only a few miles or so from our home.

Prince Edward County, Ontario : Vacation 2007: For the past twenty years or so, we have vacationed at least a week or more, every summer in the County of Prince Edward, located in Central Ontario, Canada on the shores of Lake Ontario. Arranged in this gallery is just a few of my favourite images pulled together from several larger collections, all taken during a single, one week vacation in July of 2007.

Winter White : Winter White : The first week of February 2008 and three major snow storms have whacked us back to back in just as many days. A short meander about the perimeter of my neighbourhood in the storms aftermath provides for a few photographic opportunities, despite the passing nasty weather. (Plus a few additional ship images from about the same time period).

Bluewater Bridges : My favourite spot whenever I return for a visit to my hometown of Sarnia, Ontario, is under the twinned Bluewater Bridges where Lake Huron discharges into the mouth of the St.Clair River. Just a great spot to blow a couple of leisurely hours, grab some fries off the chip truck and recharge the old battery. Don't like the view? Wait sixty seconds and it will be something completely different! On the opposite shore is the American border city of Port Huron, Michigan.

Fortunately, in archive I have photo captures on print film of the many other members of the enclave, now long since gone . Someday, when I have lots of time, ... JUNGLE BRASS : JUNGLE BRASS: This interesting little spot is actually on the sidewalk, outside of the store front of a little shop, barely a stones throw from the bustle of downtown Toronto. All of these interesting curios are tightly spread over an area no larger than twenty-five or thirty feet at best. Right next door is my sons orthodontist, so while he is inside having the braces adjusted, I finally remembered to bring my trusty shooter and stole a few images to kill the time. I hope you like them.

The centrepiece of this unique collection is the WWII Halifax bomber currently undergoing a full frame restoration. Simultaneously, a new hanger building construction is underway that will display this last remaining example of a Halifax bomber in North America.

TIN MEN : TIN MEN : The original "Ruffnecks".
I stumbled upon this interesting photo-op purely by accident while out on a drive in the countryside desperately looking for anything to shoot. These stoic but handsome, full-size "Oil-Patch" workers were found scattered randomly about a number of still producing, low pressure oil fields covering several square miles in and about the town of Oil Springs, Ontario. According to the history books, this is the location where it all began, the first commercial oil well production in North America that subsequently started the global search for the black gold and where the Age of Oil all began.
These remarkable full size steel figures were constructed by a local folk artist; Murray Watson (see link below). I understand that each one of these handsome fellas are modelled after real people (past & present) residing in the local area.

While passing through this tiny village recently, my wife and I literally stumbled into the "PINK", sitting upon his lofty perch, preaching to the feeble minions who are drawn to the steps of his humble abode. Your Bio

Hello and welcome to my humble photo gallery.

After purchasing my first DSLR on a whim in 2005, I discovered a whole new set of photographic possibilities in digital format that film had never offered. However, this was not going to be an easy transition for me. After staring at this intimidating new camera sitting on my shelf for over half a year, I finally summed up the courage to dust off the beast, top-up the batteries and learn how to use it or lose it. So, blessed with a little intestinal fortitude and loads of beginners luck, the photographic result was "EAST COAST Canada", my first foray into Digital SLR photography.

I'm still struggling ...

..... and thank you for visiting.
